It's our way of saying, “Welcome”.
The signed red heart-shaped umbrella symbolizes immense gratitude and unwavering support for America’s brave female veterans, with each signature representing a story of courage, strength, and resilience. To celebrate diversity and sacrifice, AMOR Umbrella prioritized meeting women veterans across all military branches—including the Reserve and National Guard—through face-to-face interactions to understand their unique service.
Signatures were gathered during an afternoon retreat organized in the Everglades with Capt. Neal Stark and Fishing with America’s Finest, giving veterans a unique opportunity to enjoy fishing, nature, and camaraderie.
Another signature-gathering gathering took place during an afternoon retreat at the historical Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, offering veterans a peaceful venue to relax, connect, and reflect.

Navigating Everglades waters: therapeutic immersion and camaraderie for veterans
The idea for the book "Venture into the Everglades" was born when Niurka Castaneda attended a memorable first therapeutic retreat organized by Masha Andreoni and Captain Neal of Fishing with America's Finest. Experiencing firsthand the profound healing impact of nature, connection, and outdoor recreation alongside fellow veterans and their families, Niurka was inspired to capture and illustrate the trip using her original photographs.
It was a natural synergy for Niurka to partner with Masha Andreoni to co-author the book. As a licensed mental health therapist, Niurka contributed her clinical expertise on the psychological and therapeutic benefits of outdoor retreats for veteran trauma recovery and reintegration.
Importantly, the Florida Everglades set the overall theme for our second initiative, deeply influencing both the message and the natural color palette of our products. From earth-toned camouflage bags to natural basswood dog tags, the aesthetic honors Florida's untamed wilderness as a place of refuge and psychological restoration.
When Niurka later launched the official Gift Initiative to honor Florida's First Lady Casey DeSantis—continuing our work a year later with our second initiative—it was only natural to reunite with Masha Andreoni and Captain Neal. While the signed red heart umbrella was featured during our first gift initiative, they organized a second dedicated therapeutic fishing trip tailored specifically for female veterans. This gathering provided a safe space for women in service to connect, heal, and record their signatures on the Pink Heart Umbrella (symbolizing breast cancer awareness), transforming a simple gift into a living symbol of unified sisterhood.
• The Pink Heart Umbrella: Unites the Purple Heart’s symbol of military valor with the pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness, honoring female veterans' strength, health, and service.
• Real Basswood Wooden Dog Tags: Pays homage to classic identification tags dating back to the Civil War. Handcrafted from natural basswood by USMC veteran Frank Manteau, they symbolize perpetual memory, strength, and veteran craftsmanship.
• 50-Cal Ammo Can, Coffee & Bullet Thermo: Repurposes functional tactical gear into a vehicle for comfort and hospitality, representing military readiness, protection, and the deep tradition of field coffee gatherings.
• Furoshiki Bag & Camo Storage: Blends ancient Japanese wrapping arts with practical camouflage. Represents tactical versatility, care, and protecting vital contents during shipment.
• Everglades Book & Card Inscriptions: Captures the healing power of outdoor therapy, documenting fishing retreats that promote mental health, recovery, and veteran camaraderie.
• Collective Signatures: Personal inscriptions from women across military branches form a powerful, enduring testament to unity and sisterhood in service.
A moving visual chronicle showcasing female veterans, active-duty soldiers, and uniformed service members across all military branches adding their personal signatures, messages of resilience, and solidarity onto the umbrella canvas.
A comprehensive inventory of military-grade artifacts, artisan crafts, and dedicated literature presented in the honorific gift package.
Designed as a tribute for breast cancer awareness, this pink heart umbrella serves as a living canvas signed by female veterans across military branches. Encased in a custom handmade brown-and-pink leather travel case crafted by combat veteran Donald Dodson.
An original design by Nefertiti San Miguel, founder of Etnia Fusion + Friends. Inspired by traditional Japanese Furoshiki cloth wrapping, this bespoke bag was custom-made to carry and protect the military care package with elegance.
A 50-Cal military ammunition box containing gourmet Espresso and American ground coffee, paired with a specialized bullet-shaped thermo and canteen cup, blending field utility with military heritage.
Crafted from authentic basswood by USMC veteran Frank Manteau of Kamikaze Wood Werks. Laser-cut and precision-engraved featuring military-spec ball chains, clear coat sealing, and dual logos on the reverse side.
An autographed copy of "Venture into the Everglades" co-authored by Niurka Castaneda and Masha Andreoni, paired with a commemorative postcard set showcasing photography from Everglades therapeutic veteran retreats.
Two waterproof polyester camo drawstring bags and a matching face mask featuring double heart embroidery. Custom-sized to enclose coffee grounds inside the ammo can during transit while serving as functional tactical accessories in the field.
