About the Authors & Artist
Niurka Castaneda (Author): Growing up in Cuba within a family of entrepreneurs and artists, Niurka developed a lifelong passion for art, music, reading, travel, photography, and all things positive. Upon immigrating to Miami,she honorably served in the U.S. Military. Today, she is a proud veteran entrepreneur, author, filmmaker, media producer, and the founder of Amor Umbrella.
Masha Andreoni, LCSW (Author): Born in Miami Beach the same year her parents emigrated from Ukraine (the former U.S.S.R., with a proud Italian chapter in between!), Masha grew up in a household dedicated to public service through law enforcement and nursing. Widowed at 33, she discovered her newfound passion and will to go on by serving those who served. Today, she is a licensed clinical social worker, proud single mother, and founder of Empowered Veterans of America.
