Dog tags have a rich history in the military, and our set honors this tradition in a meaningful way. With their intricate laser-cut and engraved designs, these tags are a symbol of our commitment to honor all those who have served, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The term “dog tag” was coined during World War II, when draftees claimed they were treated like dogs, and the tags looked similar to the metal tag on a dog’s collar. However, the concept of an identification tag originated long before that, during the Civil War, when soldiers feared being buried in unmarked graves. They found various ways to prevent that, including carving their names into chunks of wood strung around their necks.

Today, dog tags are an official part of the military uniform, and they are still issued to service members as a reminder of America’s efforts to honor all those who have served, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Not only do these unique tags represent the bravery of our military, but they also support our AMOR Umbrella gift initiative, which is committed to giving back to those who have served our country. With over 2 million women veterans, 1,983,236 military family members, and 19 million U.S. veterans, our mission is to show support and raise awareness for these communities.
